If you have any medical conditions or are on certain medication you should check with your doctor before Infrared sauna.Diuretics,barbiturates and beta-blockers may impair the body's natural heat loss mechanisms. Anti-cholinergics such as amitryptaline may inhibit sweating and can predispose individuals to heat rash or heat stroke.Some over the counter drugs such as anti-histamines may cause the body to be more prone to heat stroke.

Excessive temperatures have a high potential for causing fetal damage during the early months of pregnancy. Pregnant or possibly pregnant women should contact their doctor prior to using infrared sauna.

Hyperthermia Danger: Prolonged exposure to hot air can induce hyperthermia. Hyperthermia occurs when the internal temperature of the body reaches a level several degrees above the normal body temperature of 98.6F (37C). While hyperthermia has many health benefits, it is important not to allow your body's core temperature to rise above 103F. Symptoms of excessive hyperthermia include dizziness, lethargy, drowsiness, and fainting. The effects of excessive hyperthermia may include failure to perceive heat, failure to recognize the need to exit, unawareness of impending hazard, fetal damage in pregnant women,physical inability to exit the sauna, and unconsciousness.

The use of alcohol, drugs, or medications prior to or during infrared sauna sessions may lead to unconsciousness and should be avoided

Persons suffering from obesity or with a medical history of heart disease, low or high blood pressure, circulatory system problems, or diabetes should check with their doctor prior to using infrared sauna.

Artificial limbs,metal plates/pins and surgical implants generally reflect infrared waves and are not heated like the rest of the body,although it is advised to obtain doctor clearance prior to using infrared saunas

Children over the age of 12 may use infrared saunas for a short time if they are closely supervised at all times.

It is not advised to use an infrared sauna immediately following strenuous exercise. Wait at least 15 minutes to allow the body to cool down completely
